The Churn, 11.09.2010

The land of great people, fantastic beer and Tolkien-like nature beckons once again!  The adventures of Churney McGee and crew continue with a long weekend jaunt up Portland way.  Super pumped and honored to open for New Monsoon at the Tabor Theater on Thursday, then rock Hood River the following night.

December features a double dose of keyboardists extraordinaire!  5EH opens for the Marco Benevento Trio on the 3rd and jams all night with Eric Levy on the 17th.  Also in December, brace yourselves for High Beamz!  Featuring Zanardi, Mo Sardella, Sean and Murph from Izabella and Great Owl, and Eric Levy.

We have a lot to be thankful for, and especially right now would like to extend our thanks and appreciation to many folks.  Thanks to the attendees, organizers and musicians of Las Tortugas.  Wow, what fun!  Great setting, setup, and sets by all the bands we had the opportunity to check out.

Mucho, mucho gracias to Dave Fleishman for our newly redesigned website.  Looks great!  Please check it out if you haven't visited recently.

Lastly, thanks to our street teamers and street team Lieutenant Bridget Haworth.  What is the sound of a band playing to no people?  Rehearsal.  It's far, far more fun to play for stoked folks, so thank you all very much for getting the word out!  Specifically, cheers to Chrisi Shock and Cara Syverson in Portland, Janet Planet and Joe in Hood River, Molly, Mark and Freda in Sebastopol, and Charlene Romero.  Enough cannot be said about the generosity and hospitality of Billy and Shannon of the Portland area; thank you so much for warm beds and late-night bacon sandwiches!!

As a final note, Happy Birthday to Jason Beerbear!  We're comin' to your town, we're gonna party down!
